Warhammer Underworlds: Nightvault is an action-packed combat game for two players. Build your warband, construct your deck, and defeat your rivals. The game is considered a Season 2 of last years Shadespire. Warhammer Underworlds: Nightvault is stand alone game and is also compatible with Warhammer Underworlds: Shadespire. The game expands on the existing rules adding the "magic" component, new maps and counters which seems very well balanced in the factions released in this new box set. I see no reason for it to be overpowered if you use your existing Shadespire units.
In Warhammer Underworlds, you and your opponent pick a warband – 2 are included in this box – and build a deck of power and objective cards (6 more expansions Warbands are planned along with the 8 released last year). After placing your warband on the hex-tiled game boards, you take turns making actions – movement and attacks – until 3 phases are played. Between actions, you can use the power cards to introduce effects and reactions that can swing the battle in your favour; building the best deck you can and using cunning to deploy these abilities at the perfect time is the secret to mastering the game and dominating your foe. Merely vanquishing your opponent’s warband does not guarantee victory – capturing objectives, standing your ground, making the best tactical choices and deploying the right cards at the right time will gain you the glory points you need to win! Once you’re familiar with the rules, games will take around 30 minutes – you’ll always have time for a rematch. Everything you and a friend need to play games of Warhammer Underworlds is included in this box. Contained within: - A Stormcast Eternals warband – Stormsire’s Cursebreakers – made up of 3 push-fit, blue plastic miniatures (Rastus the Charmed, Ammis Dawnguard and the leader, Averon Stormsire); - A Nighthaunt warband – the Thorns of the Briarqueen – made up of 7 push-fit, bone-coloured plastic miniatures (The Ever-Hanged, Varclav the Cruel, the leader Briar Queen and 4 Chainrasps whom Nagash has not afforded the dignity of names). Both of these warbands are Easy To Build, with no glue necessary and a comprehensive, easy to follow construction guide; - A 32-page rulebook, including the story of Shadespire’s rise and fall, the opening of the Nightvault, the background of the 2 included warbands and all the rules you need to play – including new scatter mechanics, rules for resolving magic spells, and the use of lethal hexes, sections of game board that are fatal to those pushed in; - An 8-page quick start guide, covering the contents of the box, understanding your cards, movement and attacks, and playing your first game; - 2 double-sided game boards, featuring hexes and objectives; - 2 pre-built decks of power and objective cards – 96 in total – for use with the included warbands; - 10 double-sided Fighter cards, providing the stats and information needed for the fighters in each warband at a glance; - 5 attack dice, 3 defence dice and 3 magic dice; - 11 double-sided objective tokens; - A scatter template; - 30 wound tokens; - 46 double-sided glory point tokens; - 15 double-sided move and charge tokens; - 15 Guard tokens; - 8 activation counters. If you like a good skirmish game or do not want to start collecting that large army, but enjoy the aspect of wargaming, give this game a try!

The amazing ITEMeeples are snapped into your Mech when you earn it in play! Tiny Epic Mechs is an arena-style player-vs-player action-programming game. It features ITEMeeples with plastic molded power armors and a Mech suit that the ITEMeeples actually go inside of. They compete in a free-for-all battle royale over the span of six rounds. In each round, players select four of eight available actions to program. These actions keep you moving around the arena while allowing you to deploy high-scoring defensive turrets, plant explosive land mines with hidden values, collect resources, purchase weaponry, and power up into your Power Armor or eventually the highly-sought-after Mech Suit. While each player has their own Power Armor, there is only one Mech Suit, reserved for the king of the hill. Your programmed actions are played out one at a time around the table until all players have executed their four actions. When you cross paths with another player, combat ensues. During combat, players exchange fire until one player is out of ammo and must retreat, or they are defeated and forced to reset. Combat is fast, and you can use each weapon only one time per fight, so the more weapons you have, the longer you'll last. Weapons are categorized into three types, and each type counters one of the other types. If you time your weapons correctly, you can counter your opponent and unleash a more powerful attack and gain an edge over them. Dealing a lot of damage to your opponent will wow the audience and earn you lots of points, which brings you closer to victory. You also score victory points every other round based on area control and who controls the Mech. At the end of the game, you also earn points for each weapon you own. Time travel back 10 months to Pax Unplugged 2017 and you will see me walking the convention hall in the dealers area doing what I do in the gaming, geek, and grognard world. I was passing by a very visual demo setup of Mech's, Tanks, and some extremely tricked out infantry. While looking familiar, it was enticing and in my haste to get to my next video interview, I made a note of this company and told myself, I have to get back to this. It was Paolo Parente's "Dust 1947" . Fast forward to June of 2018 and as I head to a media broadcast for a local news station, I catch a glimpse of the Dust 1947 booth. While my time was limited, I again did not get back to talk to the booth staff but, the word on the show floor was this game is taking tabletop miniatures to the next level. Fast forward again, this time it's August of 2018 and Indianapolis is the place. Gencon is happening and the city is full of gamers everywhere you go. I planned accordingly with my limited time and thought I should be set, but again missed the opportunity to talk with the company rep's onsite. From what most of the tabletop groups I network with are saying, I missed the best booth at the show. Now it is Labor Day, 2018 and I start to get calls and texts from friends and local gamers telling me I should have been at "The Gameroom's" (a game store in Toledo, Ohio) Annual Game Demo Event. The demo teams along with the USA Distributor's staff from DUST USA were present and running games. They also answered questions and helped new and existing players choose factions to take home. Even my son, who was in attendance for an RDI tournament, said that the game is visually stunning and bringing him back to the tabletop miniatures world. "So, what is this game that keeps eluding me? Lets hear from the Publisher: "The year is 1947. The war that started eight years ago with Germany invading Poland isn’t over. The conflict has long spread worldwide. Other than the three great blocs, there are but a handful of countries left hanging on to relative neutrality. As the conflict grew longer, old alliances were broken while new ones were formed. Nowadays, the leading powers of the past are assembled into three huge states:
Throughout the world, the three blocs are fighting to gain exclusive control over a revolutionary ore: Vk. This ore has revealed extraordinary properties and brought forth the design of gigantic combat robots, capable of challenging the world’s most advanced tanks. The discovery and first military applications of Vk came from Germany. Everything concerning this ore is shrouded in mystery. Rumors have been going around saying its secrets were revealed by aliens from another planet… But who could take such rumors seriously after years of war propaganda? So as I contemplate on how to tell you that I have missed several opportunities to bring this game to you, a couple things happened.
While working on a Xbox feed, I get a notice from Miniatures Market (a Online Retailer with a retail store in St Louis) that they are hosting a Dust 1947 "Learn to Play Day" at the Retail Store on Sept 22nd. Now the kicker as I gather information to bring you, I found out that the USA Distributor is located about 20 minutes south of where I live!!! This game is calling me now. What else can I say that all of you probably don't already know? The game is currently distributed through Dust Studios, it was previously licensed and sold by Fantasy Flight Games and before that, through Battlefront. While it has a Alternate History Post WWII theme, it already incorporates the Cthulhu mythos and army faction. Plans are coming to bring in a Alien race in late 2019. The possibilities are endless. The miniatures are amazing and the company welcomes players to use any previous models they might own from FFG or Battlefront. The models from Dust Studios now come in three versions and this is a huge step in appealing to all gamers. You can order them unassembled, you can order them assembled and primed and, now get this, you can order them fully painted! This is not some 3 color paint scheme, these painted miniatures are presented very well...with the use of multiple colors and even have a weathered and battle worn look! The game is easy to learn, does not seem to get bogged down in rules, has various complexity in its game mechanics and did I mention that the miniatures look awesome! So there you have it. I have brought you Dust 1947 and have not talked to a company rep, not to a demo team member, I don't have any product in my hand and I have not played the game at all yet. What I can tell you is that every gaming group, friend and relative I know is playing, or going to play this game. The reviews if based upon my readers & followers is extremely high! One person wrote "...this is what a tabletop game should be". Chad from Orlando, FL "...and the visuals of the game, the game mechanics, the pre-painted or primed models are awesome all around". I will be picking up some Dust 1947 product in the coming weeks and will do an unboxing of some newer models on our Mixer Channel and schedule a Mixer feed later this Month or next. |
