Sea of Thieves' Xbox One and PC beta has experienced some problems since it started earlier this week, with some players unable to access the trial at all until very recently. In response, developer Rare has now extended the game's beta by two days; the test period will now end on Wednesday, January 31 at midnight PT / 3 AM ET / 8 AM GMT / 6 PM AEST.
Regarding the issues themselves--which have seen some users met with a "too early" message, denying them entry to the beta--Rare says it has deployed a fix that is "unfortunately taking longer than anticipated to reach all affected players." The company has apologized for the delay and says it is still working on returning normal service to all players. Sea of Thieves launches for Xbox One and PC on March 20 and will support cross-play between the two platforms. Ahead of the game's release, Microsoft will sell a limited quantity of cool-looking Sea of Thieves Xbox One controllers, which come with a Ferryman Clothing DLC set and 14-day trials for Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass. Microsoft also announced that Sea of Thieves will be the first Xbox One-exclusive available on Game Pass the day it launches. TCL’s 2017 4K TVs are new on the market, and they are one of the best values right now, and Amazon has 3 sizes on a Super Sale for Super Bowl.
These sets don’t go on sale often. I purchased one before the Holidays to test out and it performs flawlessly! These sets all have Roku’s excellent software built in, 4K resolution, and even a limited form of HDR. Yesterday, Snoop Dogg livestreamed the early access survival game SOS, a game where 16 players need to work together to escape a dangerous island. He appeared to do a pretty good job grabbing loot even though he wasn’t actually playing the game. It led some viewers to cry foul about the celebrity endorsement and whether or not it matters that, for once in his life, Snoop Dog wasn’t a player.
Snoop spent an hour on stream where he appeared to play SOS, running along with teammates to gather treasure and shoot guns. SOS players can team up or work against each other to find a hidden relic, eventually needing to reach an extraction point to leave the island with the loot. For a while, it looked like Snoop was playing the game. He grabbed items, ran with his team, and had conversations about pineapple rum. Snoop then demonstrated his killer ability to play video games while smoking a blunt (which violates Twitch TOS) and looking down to read the ingredients that go into his brand of premium plant nutrients. He also does a rap about papayas and killing demons with knives. Audience reaction was split between viewers who were amused and mostly others who presumably expected authentic gameplay. “Is he really pretending to play?” one viewer asked. “Lame.” “He so obviously doesn’t care about this game,” another added. Some commenters were quick to compare the “fail” with Snoop’s visit to the Electronic Games Expo in 2016, where he played the online shooter Battlefield 1 alongside Jamie Foxx and Zac Efron. Other responses to the SOS stream were more forgiving, laughing at the spectacle of it. SOS developers Outpost Games have not responded yet, perhaps they are just sending out an S.O.S. to recover.
It's been a long time coming, but Marvel's first female-led superhero movie arrives next year. Captain Marvel hits theaters in March 2019, with star Brie Larson in the title role. The movie is expected to start shooting soon, and Larson has posted an image of her training for the role on Instagram. The caption says it all: "Learning how to fly."
Captain Marvel hits screens in March 2019. The movie is directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, who collaborated on Ryan Gosling's breakthrough Half Nelson and have directed episodes of hit TV shows The Affair and Billions. The film also stars Ben Mendelsohn (Star Wars: Rogue One), Jude Law (Sherlock Holmes), and DeWanda Wise (She's Gotta Have It). Samuel L Jackson will also make a return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the role of SHIELD boss Nick Fury.
A few details about the movie were revealed at San Diego Comic-Con last summer. It will be set in the 1990s, making it something of a prequel to the current MCU. We also know Captain Marvel will be facing off against a classic Marvel villain: Skrulls. Ahead of her standalone movie, Larson is expected to make her debut as Captain Marvel in this year's Avengers: Infinity War, which hits theaters in May. Inhumans, ABC’s adaptation of Marvel’s superhuman dynasty of the same name, has always been troubled, from the worrying early trailers to the somewhat abysmal first season. Rumors of the show’s cancellation have been swirling for nearly as long as it’s been on the air, but now we might have our first real confirmation of the show’s demise. As first noticed by SpoilerTV, the series has disappeared entirely from ABC’s press site. It doesn’t appear in the dropdown menu, and the URL that used to lead to the show’s page no longer works. This isn’t quite an official confirmation of a cancellation (the show does still appear on the public-facing ABC site, though you can’t get to it from the main dropdown menu), but it’s not looking good, folks. There’s a dropdown option on this website for an unnamed Grey’s Anatomy spinoff. But not Inhumans. |
