![]() While I am quite connected to many players in the gaming world, both video and tabletop, I ran into a bit of lag a few years ago. As many of you know, I moved to a small town 4 years ago. I was able to secure the lower level and lower deck of the new house (with my wife's permission of course) and promptly set up my office, my gaming room and studio, and lastly, enough storage for my geek & grognard items as well as the online store. Within the first month I noticed that my change of geographical location left me without a close proximity to any gamers I know or stores I am used to frequenting. What I needed was a way to connect to stores, events, clubs and gamers close to me. What I needed was the Gamefor App. (I just wish they would have released it four years ago) The Gamefor App, which is available for Android & iOS, helps you find stores, tabletop events, players and more, all within a customizable distance. Each of these search variables yields a result that can be expanded upon. Users can signup within the app and from there, can find new and existing stores in the database. Another feature allows players to add or search for clubs which can help you find games and gamers with similar interests.. You can also add your profile to a search area so fellow gamers can find you by the games and game types you would like to play. A new feature lets you tag #iamgamefor on social media and the developers might add your photo's on your account. The App supports all tabletop gaming such as Roleplaying Games, Board Games, Collectable card games, tabletop wargaming and more. If you are a store owner, it gets even better. You can make an account online, go through a simple verification process, and directly connect to you customer base. It will give you insights such as creating a window of what gaming enthusiasts are playing in your area and help traveling gamers find your store easily. You can set up store events to attract more players to your venue and use it to organize their gaming. You can find the developers attending several conventions this year and next as they introduce the Gamefor App directly to gamers. The company also has a very responsive support team, answering questions and inquiries via email. A member of the Support team for Gamefor is none other than Atom Smasher from Tabletop Minions. Uncle Atom regularly mentions the App on his weekly YouTube show as well as his bi-weekly livestream on YouTube. The Principal and Co-Founders of Gamefor are Jason Stephenson formally of ZyQuest and Matthew Ridley. The Gamefor App was developed by Milk Can LLC which is a Software Development and Design Studio specializing in custom mobile apps and software. The developers and staff are all tabletop gamers themselves and it shows in the unique design of the application. So, click the picture below to download the app and let the world know what your "Gamefor" today. Who knows, maybe you will find a game or event hosted by myself or even Uncle Atom!
